As we bid farewell to 2023, it’s hard to believe the year is coming to an end. For many, it can’t wrap up soon enough, given the myriad challenges, inconsistencies, and uncertainties we navigated. Among the notable events in our automotive world, Lehigh Valley Dealers have been visited by manufacturer representatives, solidifying their commitment to be EV-ready by 2030 to 2035. While inventories are gradually returning to normalcy, we’re simultaneously witnessing interest rates soaring to levels unseen in nearly two decades.
The conclusion of the UAW strike brought unprecedented record wage increases across the Big 3 manufacturers, prompting us to ponder the potential impact on manufacturing costs and our competitiveness within the industry.
As we enter the heart of November and December, the spirit of giving takes center stage. Thanksgiving brings cherished moments with family and friends, a turkey dinner with all the fixings, gratitude, and strategic planning for the upcoming Black Friday Sales. This year, our “Driving Away Hunger” event aims to distribute over 100 Thanksgiving dinners to families in need.
Save the date for our Children’s Christmas Lunch on December 10th, and if you’re looking to contribute to the holiday cheer, we have over a dozen GLVADA Toy Drive Drop boxes at dealerships across the Lehigh Valley. Visit glvada.org for locations or reach out to me if you’d like a drop box at your dealership.
In the spirit of the season, I extend warm holiday wishes to all members and associates of GLVADA. Let’s collectively hope for peace in the Middle East, express gratitude for what we have, and look forward to a 2024 that is marked by fewer challenges, more consistency, and a sense of certainty.
All the best,
Dan Moyer, Executive Director
Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association
